Melissa Burroughs Johnson has worn many hats in the field of education.  Among the many, she has taught grades K-8, worked as a reading specialist, Reading Liaison for the Governor’s Reading Initiative, consultant and grant coordinator/writer of the Academics 2000 grants for Region 2, elementary and high school principal. During her career, she has been awarded funding for reading grants that provided book sets, novels, reading programs and teacher training for 32 public school districts and several private schools. As has always been part of their free time spent together, she enjoys word play, creating and writing stories for children with her daughters.
